Recent news of specific interest to the Green River community is concerned with water. The Henderson County Board of Commissioners agreed to the extension of Hendersonville City Water into two developments in Green River even though the recently adopted County plan stated that developments should be approved only for areas where the infrastructure was already in place. Saluda is buying the output of a small water system in Tuxedo. Lake Adger may be bought by Polk County as a source of drinking water. This would result in environment restrictions extending well up into the Green River valley. Residents are concerned that the voices of developers and communities that are outgrowing their own water supplies are being heard and residents of Green River are not.
