Tuxedo Park has a new addition, the Matthew Mullinax Memorial Picnic Shelter. The shelter was recently completed and is waiting on picnic tables and grills. It is a beautiful 20 x 40 shelter with a green metal roof and split rock pillars topped with brick. It perfectly complements the restrooms and connects to the amazing playground. The shelter was constructed by a local building company, TA Hudson Builders, INC. The total cost of the building was approximately $52,000 and took about 6 weeks to complete. It has electricity, concrete walkways and is ADA compliant. If you are interested in using the picnic shelter for a gathering, please contact the Henderson County Parks and Recreation Dept at 697-4884 to reserve.
